Education, Outreach & Diversity

KY NSF EPSCoR proudly supported a wide range of events and  activities that supported STEM education, outreach and community. From teacher training to STEM conference for middle school girls, the EOC-awarded programming reached over 6,500 participants in five years of funding.

Faculty at Kentucky’s regional institutions received over 70% of the total Research Scholars awards.

EPSCoR Internships

In 5 year, KY NSF EPSCoR funded 22 internships at science or tech companies with an operating presence in Kentucky. Over 40% of EPSCoR Interns are underclassmen.

Research Startups

In the first four years of the grant, KY NSF EPSCoR provided support funding to recruit new-hire, research-active Kentucky faculty at small, regional institutions with the goal of submitting proposals to the NSF.

Faculty who received the Research Enhancement Grant were provided seed-funding for research projects that would serve as the basis for submission of a  research proposal application to the National Science Foundation.
